The DTF Prints of ACHI A3 Roll DTF Printer Washing Instructions: How To Keep Your DTF Print Looking Fresh

The DTF Prints of ACHI A3 Roll DTF Printer Washing Instructions: How To Keep Your DTF Print Looking Fresh

Direct-to-Film (DTF) printing has revolutionized the customization industry, and the ACHI A3 Roll DTF Printer is at the forefront, producing vibrant, high-resolution, and durable prints on a wide variety of fabrics.

However, the longevity and vibrancy of your designs don’t end at the printer; proper washing and care are crucial.

Follow these essential washing instructions to ensure your DTF prints from the ACHI A3 Roll DTF Printer stay looking as fresh as the day they were pressed.

Why Proper Washing Matters

DTF transfers involve printing a design onto a special film, then using a hot melt powder adhesive and heat press to bond it to the fabric.

This creates a strong, flexible, and soft-to-the-touch print. Proper curing and washing protect this bond and the ink layers from premature cracking, fading, or peeling, ensuring your creations last through countless wears and washes.

Step 1: The Crucial First Wait (Curing Time)

Before you even think about washing, your newly printed garment must cure. After pressing with your heat press, allow the garment to rest for at least 24-48 hours. \

This waiting period lets the inks and adhesive fully settle and bond with the fabric fibers, creating a much stronger connection that can withstand the agitation of a washing machine.

Step 2: Turning Inside Out

This is the single most effective step for protecting your print. Always turn the garment inside out before washing.

This minimizes direct contact and friction between the printed design and other garments, the washer drum, and the dryer walls, which are the primary causes of cracking and abrasion.

Step 3: Choosing the Right Washer Settings

  • Water Temperature: Use Cold Water. Hot water can break down the adhesive and cause the inks to fade over time. Always opt for a cold or gentle cold wash cycle.

  • Cycle Type: Gentle/Delicate Cycle. The aggressive agitation of a heavy-duty cycle is harsh on DTF prints. A gentle or delicate cycle uses slower spinning and tumbling, which is much kinder to your designs.

  • Detergent: Mild and Bleach-Free. Use a mild, liquid detergent. Avoid any detergents containing bleach, fabric softeners, or stain removers. These harsh chemicals can degrade the adhesive and dull the vibrant colors of your print.

Step 4: Drying Your Garment Correctly

  • Air Drying is Best. The ideal method for drying your DTF-printed garments is to lay them flat or hang them to air dry naturally. This applies zero stress and heat to the print.

  • If You Must Use a Dryer: If you need to use a machine dryer, ensure the garment is still inside out. Use the lowest heat setting or the air dry (no heat) setting only. High heat is a major enemy of DTF prints as it can cause the adhesive to soften and the print to crack or peel. Remove the garment promptly once dry.

Key "Don'ts" to Remember

  • Do Not dry clean. The chemical solvents used will destroy the print.

  • Do Not iron directly on the print. If you must iron the garment, iron it inside out on the reverse side without steam, or place a pressing cloth over the design.

  • Do Not soak the garment for prolonged periods or use harsh chemical spot cleaners on the design.

Long-Term Care for Lasting Freshness

By consistently following these simple steps, you can significantly extend the life of your custom apparel. The high-quality prints produced by the ACHI A3 Roll DTF Printer are designed for durability, and with proper care, they will remain vibrant, soft, and crack-free wash after wash.

Protect your investment and keep your custom creations looking their best by making these washing instructions a habit. Happy printing
